Gratitude and Passion

Fall is the season for brightly colored leaves, counting our blessings, and conferences. The leaves in our area have seemed a little late in turning this year, maybe due to some unseasonably warm weather. At this writing, they are now nearing their peak. I still find myself in awe at their grandeur.

Fall is the season for brightly colored leaves, counting our blessings, and conferences. The leaves in our area have seemed a little late in turning this year, maybe due to some unseasonably warm weather. At this writing, they are now nearing their peak. I still find myself in awe at their grandeur.

I have had the opportunity to attend a couple of conferences already this fall, and have a couple more still ahead. Some of these conferences are smaller and more local. Others are large with a more national attendance. The speakers have been informative and even inspirational at times. These conferences are also great opportunities to network with other professionals in the field and to learn from their differing experiences and perspectives. As I mingled with all of the people attending these events, saw the huge amount of work that went into them, and engaged in conversations with a number of people, I was struck by one thing. What struck me was the dedication and the passion of so many people working on the serious issues facing our communities. They are working diligently to address problems like homelessness, abandonment, and drug addiction. I am grateful to be in the company of so many people who care deeply about their communities, and who are working with perseverance to bring about positive change. This is a passion that we also share. Because of this shared passion, we look forward to the possibility of partnering with you to bring positive change to your community in the near future.

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, I want to express my gratitude to God for my family, the beautiful fall weather, the glorious autumn foliage, and the many colleagues with which I have the opportunity to collaborate, who have so much passion and dedication to solving the problems facing their communities. I hope that you will join me in giving thanks!
